Family Worker

My name is Carrie Sawyer and I am the Family Worker here at St George’s. My part-time daily afternoon role is to provide support, advice and information to families within our school community who may be experiencing short or long-term challenges and support them wherever the need may be. If parents have any worries in relation to their child’s education, behaviour and wellbeing, I am here to provide a listening ear. I have an open-door policy for any child, parent or carer of the school to speak to me in confidence or ask for support. All support and advice is confidential and impartial. So if you would like support in any area, whether that be completing any forms eg. Free School Meal applications, secondary school applications or contacting the school nurse, I am here to help. If I cannot help directly, then I am able to signpost parents/carers to the relevant information and agencies that can advise and support.

Part of my role as Family Worker is to organise various workshops throughout the academic year; Time to Talk Workshops (Bromley Healthcare) and Family Learning Programmes (Bromley Adult Education) for Maths and English. Our aim is to ensure we are meeting the needs of our children and families.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me. If you have a concern or a matter on which you would like advice or support with and I will do my best to assist you and your child.
