SIAMS Inspection Report 2015

Ethos_Vision_Virtues.jpgWe are united to one another by common beliefs, purposes and goals.

St George's Bickley ( is a Voluntary aided, Church of England school and as such we follow the Diocesan of Rochester scheme of work for religious education. We nurture the children in the beliefs of the Christian faith by relating Christianity to every day life. As the children progress through the school they develop an understanding of the contribution of religion to people's lives. They acquire values and beliefs to support them as they grow up. A range of other religions and beliefs are also studied. This enables the children to develop a deeper understanding of their own beliefs through comparing their beliefs and traditions to those of other faiths. Collective Worship is held daily. Father Richard of St George's Church leads assembly once a week. Other assemblies are led by the Head teacher, teachers and the children.

WW1-Memorial.jpgREDEDICATION OF THE WW1 WAR MEMORIAL: St George's Church - September 2016
Some of the Year 6 pupils attended a Service in recognition of the rededication of the WW1 War Memorial at St George's Church. Following the Church Service, St George's pupils were invited for refreshments and were fortunate to meet The Rt Rev'd Norman Banks, Bishop of Richborough, The Worshipful The Mayor of Bromley, Councillor Ian Payne as well as many retired and currently serving Service Men and Women. The pupils were able to chat to the Service people about their roles, their serving posts and the medals they received following times of conflict around the world.

Our Prayer Tree

We should like to share information linking our school to St George's Church in Bickley and the Diocese of Rochester as well as demonstrate how the Church plays an integral part in the schools' ethos and Christian values.

As a Church school, St George's have a SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) inspection. Our last inspection was May 2015 where the inspector judged us to be a good Church school. Please read the report below for further details.
